Dad and Homer

HomerYesterday my Dad stopped by to show me his new car and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. I was in the middle of Car Talk, but he has been so excited about getting this car (he had to wait for it...which Kelloggs are notoriously poor at) that I was happy to go for a quick ride around the block.

But since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped by to show Dad's brother Rob. Did I mention I was in my pajamas? Oh right, I was wearing my favorite pajama pants that have little moose all over and my Homer Simpson slippers. So we looked at the car with Rob and I talked with Rob's girlfriend Jenny for a while. She had her sister in from Kentucky. So I am unshowered, wearing moose pants and Homer slippers and I have now encountered three people I wasn't expecting to see.

Finally I mention to Dad that we've been gone for quite a while and I failed to tell Kendra where I was going (or that I was going anywhere at all) and I should be getting home. So we head off. In the wrong direction. I figure Dad just wants to take a different way home to extend the ride a bit...but then he mentions that he is gonna stop by Reeves (the car dealership) to find out how to get the dinging to stop when the driver isn't wearing their seatbelt. I mention that wearing the seatbelt solves it in my vehicle, but this is ignored and despite my pleading that I am wearing Homer slippers and moose pants we pull into Reeves.

It wasn't that bad really, we joked I could go into the showroom and the sales people would be all "oh, I bet you're John's girl..." and that I could wander in like a female Howard Hughes.

In the end I sat in the car and Dad returned with a cup of coffee and his answer...the dinging will continue. And then he took me home.
