Yesterday Madison asked her Dad, Wayne "so, should we tell her?"  Wayne said "You can tell her if you want." And so Madison began telling Ruth that when she and Wayne had been out to dinner the night before he had offered her $5 if she would eat the wrapper from her straw. Well, five bucks is a lot to a kid (and man, if you give me $5 I will eat a couple straw wrappers) so of course she ate it. In response to the story that HER HUSBAND had asked THEIR CHILD to eat paper, Ruth asked "So where's the five bucks?", to which Madison replied that after she ate the wrapper Wayne said if she gave him $5 he wouldn't tell Ruth about her eating the wrapper. They agreed that they were even.
