Tallahassee & the Plantation

TallyiceKik and I drove up to Tallahassee last Friday to spend the weekend with T & Amanda. They had a housewarming/ birthday for Amanda party. We were able to bring the dogs much to my delight and overall we all had a terrific time. The plantation is 10,000 acres and it seems bigger than most small towns (which it may be).  T & Amanda have been fixing up one of the old workers homes and it is just as cute as it could be. Kik and I were particularly envious of their porch (under construction pic) which almost doubles the size of their house. Jezebel and Milo loved playing with their dogs Darwin and Zyda and having free range to run and explore. Milo could definitely get used to the farm life, though Jed made it extremely clear she prefers the air-conditioned life to which she has become accustomed.

I would have taken pictures but unfortunately I slipped on the porch steps and tore my knee and ankle up before the party started on Saturday. I spent a little time socializing from a rocking chair on the side porch but eventually had to retire to the guest room where I spent the rest of the weekend. Kik took extraordinary care of me and was amazingly able to enjoy the party as well. I missed seeing the main house or even a single horse, but the plantation is incredible and I can't wait to get back to explore it when I am back on my feet.

As far as my injuries, my doctor confirmed my suspicion that I had torn the ACL in my right leg (I had surgery to repair the ACL in my left three years ago). Oh well, matching scars will be cool.

Thanks Shauna for the well wishes!
(She posted in the "Say Hello"/guestbooky thing in the right column.)

damn ... sorry to hear about your leg, kiddo. to be sure, the only way to make the injury worthwhile is to milk it for all it's worth. you know "honey, can please you bring me ... "

Well, perhaps now that you will have matching scars you can stop falling down. Hee.
Okay, Internet, I just want to say--for the record--that Amy has been a trooper. :) And, yes, I am on 24 hour "Can you do me a favor...?" duty.

I felt soooo bad when you wiped out over Luke, but at least now I know you're just accident prone! Ha Ha. Hope you feel better!

Thanks. Yeah, I am facing the fact that I may be a bit more clumsy than the average bear. Oh well. ; )
