Real Pit Billiards

Valentines_1Kendra let me decide where to go out to eat last night. Because she loves me, she didn't even flinch when I picked Sonny's. Mmm. My dad has compared it to dog food, but he can't be trusted because he doesn't use the sauce. They could give me dog food as a vehicle for the sweet sauce and I would still be happy.

Then she took me to play pool. At a pool hall. The idea was so incredibly thoughtful. She doesn't usually play with me (I love to play) because she hasn't quite gotten the hang of it. So she wanted me to show her a thing or two. Well, I did. I learned how to play pool fairly well in NY on a bar sized table. One rarely encounters the larger full size regulation tables anywhere but a pool hall. Well, it is a different experience. I will just say that it is difficult to teach someone a skill that you can't perform. Flailing. That would be a mild interpretation of my performance. She won three games out of three due to my quality performance. Only shortly before I was about to throw myself on the floor and commensce a full blown tantrum did she suggest we finish the pitcher in the bar and call the pool a wash.

This concludes today's lesson in Why I Love Kendra.

Okay, this post SO makes up for the fact that I felt like a complete failure last night and had sworn off Valentine's Day for all the years to come.
I love you, Amy. And I will still let you kick my butt on a bar sized table sometime soon.

I'm so jealous .... sounds like an awesome night!
And how sweet of you to claim "It's a different size table" so that Kendra could feel like she was "getting the hang of it." :-)

Amy, I will join you for Sonny's any day of the week. I LOVE Sonny's! It would be my pick anytime I was offered a choice...
but I suck at pool.
Sounds like a great night!
