Auction

I rode over to Zephyrhills* with my Mom and Dad this past Saturday. We headed out around 7:30 a.m. to get there bright and early. My mom attends this auction once a week on Wednesdays. Things were a little different this time though - they had been saving up the "good" stuff for this Saturday auction. The atmosphere was similar to the many flea markets and antique stores I've been accompanying my folks to for decades. The idea is to look around at the merchandise before the auctions starts so you are ready to bid once things get going. And going they got. The auctioneer was part salesman part comedian (though the line blurs). He knew all the regulars and their interests. He could see behind his back and it seemed he had memorized every dusty item in the place.

Apparently Mom has good taste because the sole item she was interested in was bid through the roof right off the bat. It was a really nice way to spend time with my folks though.

*Beautiful in the Fall - Dad.

She has good taste but a wise budget. We left without the item. But we had fun!
