Friday
Michelle, Kendra and I dressed up as Snape, Luna and Harry, respectively,
and set out Friday night for the big book. We started at Tank's and had
some really good food while Nikki, Mary, Tracie and Linda met up with
us. We met a sister and brother (Amy and Kris) who were rather
interesting. The novelty of our costumes became more fun as the night
wore on and the drinking continued. I had made a few wands that were
particularly enjoyed. Though the actual event of retrieving our books
wasn't nearly as fun (we didn't actually retrieve them Friday night*) it
was a nice time.
Saturday
Kendra took me up to Borders to get the book and while we did stop at
J. Christopher's for a bite, we headed nearly directly home. Kendra
was kind enough to stay out of my way while I devoured about 550 pages
before I was exhausted and ready for bed.
Sunday
Yesterday morning we drove over to meet Dad at the Gulfport 3-par and
were joined by Paula and Jeff (very close friends of our family). We
all enjoyed a quick nine before deciding a bloody mary sounded like a
good idea. After the drink, we headed down to my uncle's place where he
was readying his small boat for Dad, Kendra and me. We took the little
13' skiff out on the choppy intercoastal over to Shell Island where we
managed a very fast dip before returning through the chop and back to
my Uncle's. Dad treated K and me to a mexican lunch and then we set
back to Tampa for a late afternoon of reading, dinner and bed.
*The event at Border's was fairly disappointing. Lessons were learned. Oh well.
