I was checking out last week's (April 17th) Weekly Planet last night and ran across this item (I will have a scan of the actual paper soon):
The Shame of the Clumsy Gunman
The
following people accidentally shot themselves recently: Off-duty
sheriff's deputy Melissa Baird (while loading her gun to check out a
noise in her yard) (Brandon, Fla., March).

I want to make "News Of The Weird"
Unknowing Pet Owner
In March, a Tampa woman named Michelle Ramer purchased a new breed of Penguin from the University of ClonePet in Crazylanda Florida. This special breed of Penguin had been genetically modified to live in warmer climates such as the sunny state of Tampa Florida. In the beginning of April Ms. Ramer was pleasantly surprised to find that her Penguin was pregnant. The Penguin spawned 2 little Floridian Penguins within 1 week. The new Penguins were born pregnant and spawned 4 more Penguins. Mistakenly the University has used the genetics of Rabbits to ensure the Penguins could withstand the heat of the Florida climate. Now Ms. Ramer is the proud owner of a flock of self-spawning Penguins.
Claiming they were probably her favorite animal, Amy Kellogg of Tampa, FL entered the lair of a pride of Ligers at an exhibit at Busch Gardens, Tampa. The Ligers were appearing as part of a travelling exhibit of animals from movies. Also on display were the mice stunt doubles for "Stuart Little 2" and the pig used in the first "Babe" film.
Miss Kellogg was escorted out of the park and said it was all worth it due to the "sweet scars" she received during the incident.
I can't believe that this was in the weekly planet. Oh my God!!
Not just the Weekly Planet...News of the Weird is syndicated and runs all over the country...
