Ruth's family went on a cruise last week and the day before they left she stopped by the office with Madison. Madison's little trick for the day went like this: Ruth would ask her "What's mommy going to do on the cruise?" she would reply "Drinking!" with a gesture akin to drinking from a beer bottle.
Well, as cute as Ruth thought this was (and it really was cute), she didn't find it nearly as cute upon her return to find that Wayne and Madison had taken advantage of Ruth's sorry post-bacardi state and sent the photo to all Ruth's friends and family. Lesson #4503 learned.
Update: I got a few more details from Ruth about the cruise and I am sure she would want me to share them with you.
Madison got to go to the Island Club which was the day time kid's camp thing. The deal is you have to pick the kids up by five. So of course the day after the picture above was taken Wayne and Ruth found themselves playing Bingo until 5:30. Realizing the time they rushed to pick her up. The area was closed down and the remaining staff member asked if they were Madison's parents. Uh oh. The staff member made a phone call and said her parents were there. While they waited for Madison the staff member explained that when they hadn't shown up Madison helpfully mentioned that they were probably in the casino -- so they walked Madison through the casino three times unsucessfully searching for them. Soon after another staff member and a very surly Madison came down the hallway.
Now, this certainly isn't the best light to place on what are usually very responsible, loving parents. However, Madison got the last laugh as she told the stories at dinner that night to anyone that would listen of her mom getting "liquored up" the night before and her parents "forgetting her" earlier that very day.
Those therapy bills are adding up aren't they?
