A Magic™©® Weekend

Kik and I went to the Magic Kingdom this past weekend. We had an excellent time. The park is showing some wear after 25 years. We got stuck on my favorite ride the Carousel of Progress and watched the future (according to 1980's standards) about five times. We waited in line for the Snow White ride which closed due to malfunction when we got to the front of the line. Our boat stopped on Pirates of the Carribean toward the end of our tour though the wait wasn't too long - it still disrupted our suspension of belief. (I didn't know how else to say what isn't really a suspension of disbelief that isn't really that at all.) And the sand on the "beaches" of the water body the ferry travels to transport guests from the parking area to the park was severely eroded.

None of this spoiled any of our time at the park as we were rather self-entertained, however, it did seem odd at a place that is known for its attention to detail and obsessive utopian façade has let some of the outside world creep into the Kingdom.

I don't know what is more hurtful...you bashing Olivia's FAVORITE playground (i.e. Disney World) or you being in my area and not calling! :)

Sorry Kel -- I love Disney and like I mentioned the small oddities didn't taint our trip - they are mainly noted here for archival purposes. And as far as our not calling...well, let's just say that if Kik would have posted about our Disney Adventures you would have known that she had her hands full.
More than once she sincerely told me it was like having a toddler. Btw, are you still coming over for Christmas?
